Majlis Ansarullah Battersea, Tahir region held an Interfaith conference on the topic of “World Crisis and Pathway to Peace” on Saturday 7th May 2022, with a total attendance of over 100 people.
In addition to members of the local community, political and social figures and representatives of different religions not only participated in the conference but also gave suggestions for establishing peace in the current crisis situation in the world in the light of the teachings of their respective religions.
Speakers at the conference included Marsha Chantel de Cordova MP for Battersea, the Anglican Church’s Rose Ponder, Buddhism’s Penalaboda, the Hindu’s Sarva Kumara Raja, the Catholic Church’s Deirdre Bryant, Mr Kumbo Singh of Sikh community and Mr Paul Harland of the Anglican Church. Raza Ahmed Murabbi Silsala represented the Jamā’at Ahmadiyya. All the speakers in their speeches referred to the teachings of their respective religions and stressed the need to intensify peace efforts. The speakers lauded Jamā’at-e- Ahmadiyya’s motto “Love for all, hatred for none” and said that adherence to it is the only guarantee of true peace in the world.
After the speeches, a short question and answer session was also held. After that, the respected speakers were given gift packs containing Holy Quran and Jamā’at literature. Afterwards, Zia-ur-Rehman Sahib, Naib Sadr Majlis Ansarullah UK concluded and thanked all the guests, friends and organisers of the conference and prayed for them. In the end, the conference participants were served with a hearty meal during which the guests continued to have an informal discussion with each other and also expressed their views regarding the conference.
